With a Top 20 hit single to his name - and a long list of live performances and radio and TV appearances - Luke Thompson now presents ‘Bleed’, a new radio single from his debut album to be released February 2008.

Luke has spent a solid month with producer/engineer Nic Manders (Brooke Fraser, Golden Horse, The Electric Confectionaires) and a bunch of top kiwi musicians recording an album and a half’s worth of new songs at Roundhead Studios, Newton, Auckland.

Luke Thompson Past collaborations with Nic Manders have produced radio hits like ‘Perfect Drive’, which was released in February 2007 and placed in the Official Top 40 New Zealand Music Singles Chart for two months, peaking at No.17, and the RadioScope NZ Airplay Top 40 for 28 weeks, peaking at No.4.  The ‘Perfect Drive’ music video was finalist for Best Solo Video at the Vodafone Juice TV Awards 2007, being very well received across the range of New Zealand television networks.

The music video for Luke’s previous single ‘Morning Light’ was also finalist at the 2006 Juice TV Awards, and the song charted for over 3 months on the RadioScope NZ Airplay Top 40.

Luke says the new single ‘Bleed’ is about “keeping it positive, through the ups and downs of life.  And having a realistic take on pain and loss … ‘Who knows tomorrow what the sky is gonna give?’ … I can’t wait to get this song - all of the songs on the album actually - out to the people.”

‘Bleed’ is accompanied by the release of a music video shot in the midst of the vibrant night life and cluttered streetscapes of Kings Cross, Sydney.  The clip was directed by UK-born fashion photographer and visual designer Giles Lambert.

Luke is planning some select performances over summer, and then an extensive nationwide tour February/March 2008 upon the release of his album.
